Discover Your Brand Style in 3 Simple Steps

Uncategorized Aug 10, 2018

Your Brand Style is the first experience potential clients and tribe members have of you; and your style isn't just limited to how you dress, it also impacts how you decorate your office, the event spaces you use, and the images and graphics you post on social media and feature on your website.

The experience that your Brand Style delivers is important because it determines who you attract, the kinds of opportunities that come your way and how you are remembered.

If your style is punk/edgy you can imagine that you will attract a different type of tribe member and client than if your style is spiritual/flowy - right?

With the saturated market of coaches, healers and personal development gurus, it is imperative that your brand style is clear and consistent so you don't fade into the background.

But how do you choose your style? If you're anything like I used to be, you probably have a mismatched "style" made up of things that you've collected over the years just because you like them.

But "just because you like them" isn't enough when it comes to creating a brand style that consistently and clearly sends the right message while screaming authenticity and uniqueness.

I used to wear a lot of fuschia and bright green paired with Birkenstocks, pigtail buns, tribal jewelry, hippie dresses, and ruffled sleeves. My style said nothing except mismatched hippie girl (not confident woman leader - my style was way too immature for that).

And if you're one of my Boulder, CO ladies, let's clear something up right now, ok? Your style is NOT "yoga clothes"! That is not a style!

Even if you're a yoga instructor and you live in yoga clothes, the question to ask is, what is my yoga "look"? Am I an edgy yogi? Spiritual yogi? Sporty yogi? There are many yoga "looks" but "yoga" is not a style!

So let's get on with it and discover your unique Brand Style! Ready?

Next Steps:

1. Determine your signature pieces

List a few items that you want to use consistently throughout your wardrobe to represent your signature style. For example cowgirl boots, pink hair, images of owls, red lips, crystals, glasses, hats, etc.

2. Prioritize

You don't have to go out and buy a whole new wardrobe right away. But now that you know your style, you can keep an eye out for the items that are a top priority. Create a list of your top priority items so you know what you're looking for.

3. Express your style across your brand

Remember, you Brand Style isn't just about your clothes. When looking for event venues, make sure they match your Brand Style so your brand experience stays consistent. If you're active on social media or having your website designed (or rebranded) make sure all of the imagery you use matches your Brand Style too!
